One of my regular correspondents forwarded this site:
International Quilt Association is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the art of quilting, the attainment of public recognition for quilting as an art form, and the advancement of the state of the art throughout the world. Membership is open to anyone who makes, collects, or just loves the artistry of quilts.
Each year, IQA awards cash, non-purchase prizes to winners in their annual Judged Show. In 2004, $76,750 was awarded to members who submitted their work in a variety of styles and categories. Of the more than 800 entries, less than half were juried into the show as finalists, which competed for these prizes.

For more information about IQA or how to join, please visit www.quilts.org.
